Abhishek Bachchan to romance Taapsee Pannu in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Sahir Ludhianvi biopic?

Abhishek Bachchan will be essaying the role of a famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi in the biopic. The actor might share screen space with his Manmarziyaan co-star Taapsee Pannu for the same.

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has been roped to essay the character of a famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming biopic might reunite with actress Taapsee Pannu.

According to the earlier speculations on who will play Abhishek's love interest in the biopic, actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were in talks for Amrita Pritam's role.




However, a report in daily has now revealed that his Manmarziyaan co-star Taapsee has been zeroed to essay the role of Amrita (a novelist and a poet).

Bhansali, who is producing the film spoke about the biopic to the daily. He said,''Sahir saab was one of our most talented poet lyricists, his verses are still inspiring. To bring them back through his love story will be beautiful but also a huge responsibility.''



''It’s a difficult film for the writer-director Jasmeet Reen too so I don’t want to be in a hurry but give it the darza it deserves,'' added the filmmaker.
